Dennis LaRochelleDennis LaRochelle, the new president of CAL-ABOTA, was among the three panelists who headed a discussion and video presentation for attorneys focusing on the issue of civility and courtesy in the legal profession.

“Civility Matters” was hosted by the California Coast Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Ventura County Bar Association. The three panelists for the event, which was held on Oct. 22 at the Bar Association offices in Ventura, were LaRochelle, a partner at A to Z Law; Ventura County Superior Court Judge Henry J. Walsh; and attorney Dana K. Caudill, present-elect of the California Coast Chapter. Among the questions the group discussed was, “Is civility a sign of weakness?”

The lunch-hour panel discussion and video presentation was held to further ABOTA’s mandate to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession. ABOTA created the “Civility Matters” program with the hope that it would be shared among attorneys and students at law schools nationwide.
