March 31, 2015

Stuart-Nielson06A to Z Law’s Stuart G. Nielson has been appointed to the Ventura Botanical Garden’s Board of Directors. Nielson, who specializes in complex real estate and land use issues for the firm, has worked with the nonprofit on a pro bono basis over the past several years, during which he assisted in finalizing a long-term lease with the City of Ventura to secure a site for the future development of the gardens in Grant Park above downtown Ventura.

A Ventura native, Nielson sees the Ventura Botanical Gardens as “a transformational project for Ventura that will have a significant and lasting impact upon the community.” In his new role as a Board member, Nielson looks forward to helping the nonprofit continue its efforts to develop the 107-acre project in the foothills above Ventura’s City Hall.

Upon completion, the Ventura Botanical Gardens will include gardens representing the earth’s five Mediterranean climate zones, as well as public gathering areas and facilities for educational programs, botanic laboratories and collection space. Plans also include a book and gift shop, plant sales area, dining facilities and an event center.
