     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1976, Mr. Arnold graduated from the University of Southern California (B.S. 1973). He received his legal education at the University of Southern California (J.D. 1976) where he graduated Order of the Coif. He clerked with the Honorable William Clark, Justice of the California Supreme Court, in 1976. Mr. Arnold is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a lifelong resident of Ventura County, California .

     Concentration: Mr. Arnold's practice emphasizes real estate transactional work (sales, exchanges, leasing, negotiations), business and commercial transactions, corporate and partnership taxation, finance, secured transactions, and business reorganizations.

     A member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Associations of Ventura County, Mr. Arnold has been a Director of the Pleasant Valley County Water District, is President of the Revolon Drainage Company, has rendered pro bono general counsel assistance to the Conejo Valley Senior Concerns, and is past-Chairman of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA.

Bart Bleuel , Partner

     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1966, Mr. Bleuel graduated from St. Mary's College of California (B.A. in Psychology 1963) received his legal education from Hastings College of Law (J.D. 1966), and a masters degree in taxation from Golden State University (M.S. 1984). He was in the U.S. Navy, then served in the Sacramento District Attorneys Office, and has been in private practice since 1973. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, and the United States Tax Court.

     Concentration: Mr. Bleuel specializes in trust administration, estate planning and probate fields. In addition to his Master's Degree in Taxation, He is a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate by the Board of Specialization of the California Bar Association. He handles trusts of all types from start to finish. He drafts the trust, counsels clients with the respect to their meaning, and helps the client administer them. He works with clients in all forms of estate and family tax planning, including living trusts, wills, insurance trusts, charitable trusts, family businesses and entities and other forms of succession. He also is a specialist in all matter of probate, including trust administration, estates, conservatorships and guardianships.

     Mr. Bleuel belongs to several professional organizations, these include the California State Bar Association, Certified Specialist by the California State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, Ventura County Bar Association (Past President 1991), Tri - Counties Estate Planning Council, Steering Committee member of the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the Ventura County Bar Association, and former charter member of the Warner Center Estate Planning Council. Mr. Bleuel is a Professor in Wills and Trusts at Southern California Institute of Law and previous instructor in trusts, estate planning, and taxation in several university and law school settings, including USC, CLU, GGU, & UCSB. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and a member of the Preeminent Law Directory.

     He is currently a member of Ventura Kiwanis (Past President and Kiwanian of the Year, Higson Award and Dunlap Award Recipient); Ventura Chamber of Commerce (Past Chairman of the Board and recipient 2001 Shining Star award); Channel Island Clippers (Former President and Barbershopper of the Year); Ventura Education Partnership Director and Executive Committee member; Ventura Commerce & Education Foundation Board member and Vice President; 2002 recipient of the Ben E. Nordman Award for community service; and 2007 Jefferson Award Recipient.

Dennis LaRochelle, Partner

     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1976, Mr. LaRochelle graduated from California State University at Long Beach (B.S. 1973) and received his legal education at Whittier College School of Law (J.D. 1976). He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

     Mr. LaRochelle is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association (President, 1993 and Chairman of the Business Litigation Section since 2004), the Consumer Attorneys of California (Board of Governors; Recognized Experience Certificate in the Fields of Trial Lawyer, Products Liability and Personal Injury), the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association (President, 1990), the American Board of Trial Advocates (Board of Directors), and the Ventura County Superior Court Panels of Arbitrators and Mandatory Settlement Conference Officers.

     Mr. LaRochelle had been actively involved in several community and civic organizations including the Ventura Chamber of Commerce (Vice President), the Ventura Downtown Association (President), the Ventura County Music Festival (Board of Directors) and the Ventura Lions and Rotary Clubs.

     Concentration: Mr. LaRochelle has over 30 years of civil jury trial experience in the areas of complex business, commercial and real property litigation and serious personal injury cases. He has handled a wide variety of matters, including breach of contract, real estate disputes, business torts, commercial lease disputes, boundary disputes, flood and soil subsidence, professional malpractice, insurance coverage, construction and industrial safety, wrongful death and serious injury cases.

John M. Mathews, Partner

     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1973, Mr. Mathews attended Brigham Young University (B.A. 1970) and received his legal education at the University of California at Los Angeles (J.D. 1973), where he participated in the Moot Court Honors Program. Mr. Mathews is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Mr. Mathews is a member of the State Bar of California, the Ventura and Los Angeles County Bar Associations, and a former Chairman of the Ventura County Bar Association (Real Property Section, 1987-88). He was on the steering committee that created the Ventura County Association of Water Agencies. He is a member of the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce Water Committee. He also serves on the Attorneys Committee of the California Association of Sanitation Agencies.

     Mr. Mathews has written articles on water rights and other water-related issues including environmental issues affecting real property owners. He has spoken to the California State Bar and the Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency concerning land use issues and water rights. Mr. Mathews serves as General Counsel to the Pleasant Valley County Water District, the Triunfo Sanitation District, the Channel Islands Community Services District, the Ocean View Municipal Water District, and the Oxnard Lemon Mutual Water Company.

       Concentration: Mr. Mathews is a recognized expert in water rights, and his practice is devoted substantially to the representation of special water districts and liquid waste districts, land use, government and special district counsel, general business law, corporate and partnership counsel, foreign investments, international land acquisitions and real estate transactions. Mr. Mathews also represents numerous foreign investors who have made substantial investments in real estate and farming in Ventura County, working closely with tax counsel regarding foreign investments in California real property.

Mark A. Zirbel, Partner

     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1975, Mr. Zirbel graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (B.A. cum laude 1972) and received his legal education at Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College (J.D. 1975).

     Mr. Zirbel is a member of the State Bar of California, the Ventura County Bar Association (Real Estate Section), and the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (Chairman, Attorney Committee 1994-1996).

     Mr. Zirbel has acted as both general and special counsel to numerous public agencies. Mr. Zirbel served as Assistant County Counsel for the County of Ventura, 1976-79. He served as general counsel to the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and to the Ventura County Environmental Health Department. He served as rights-of-way condemnation counsel for the Ventura County Public Works Agency. He has been general counsel to the Ventura Regional Sanitation District since 1981, and the Ojai Valley Sanitary District since 2000.

      Mr. Zirbel has also represented private clients before local, state and federal regulatory agencies. These private clients have included real estate development, agricultural, oil and manufacturing companies. He is a frequent speaker on environmental and waste management issues.

     Concentration: Mr. Zirbel is a recognized expert in the area of environmental law and land use entitlements. His practice involves government agency law, liquid and solid waste management, hazardous waste and toxics regulation, real property transactions, real property zoning and permitting, and real estate subdivision and development. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and has broad experience in public property management and rights of way acquisition.

Kendall A. Van Conas, Partner

     Kendall Van Conas is a native of Southern California, and has practiced law in Ventura County for her entire career. Ms. Van Conas obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1992. She came to A to Z from the law firm of Cohen & Cohen.

Ms. Van Conas is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association, where she currently serves as Chair its Probate and Estate Planning Section, and a member of its Client Relations Committee. Her other professional associations include membership with California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, service on the Lawyer Referral Service of the Cancer Legal Network Service, and past membership in the Camarillo Breakfast Rotary club. Ms. Van Conas has also had the privilege of serving as Judge Pro Tempore for the Ventura County Superior Court.

Concentration: Ms. Van Conas has devoted her career to the service of families who wish to plan for their futures. She is committed to providing the highest level of service to planning and servicing estates, families and individuals in all of their personal and financial legal needs.

Susan McCarthy, Associate

     Admitted to the Bar in California in 1986, Ms. McCarthy graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Los Angeles (B.A. Magnum Cum Laude, 1983). She then attended University of Southern California Law Center, receiving her J.D. in 1986.

     Ms. McCarthy is a member of the State Bar of California; the Ventura County Bar Association (Member; Business Litigation Section), and the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Central Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th circuit.

     Concentration: Ms. McCarthy’s practice concentrates on Business Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Real Property Litigation.

Amber A. Eisenbrey

     Ms. Eisenbrey is a California native who attended Arizona State University where she earned two Bachelor degrees; one in Political Science and the other in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating from ASU, Ms. Eisenbrey returned to California and attended California State University, Northridge. Upon completing her Masters degree at California State University Northridge, she attended Southwestern University School of Law, where she graduated at the top of her class. While at Southwestern, Ms. Eisenbrey worked as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender, the Ventura County District Attorney, and the Ventura County Superior Court.

     Ms. Eisenbrey is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Bar Association, and a member of Ventura County Bar Association’s Probate and Estate Planning Section.

     Concentration: Ms. Eisenbrey’s practice concentrates on probate and trust litigation, probate and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship law, and estate planning.

Stuart G. Nielson

     Mr. Nielson received his undergraduate degree in 1997 from the University of California at Berkeley (B.A., English), and obtained his law degree from University of California, Hastings College of Law in 2001. At Hastings College of Law, he was a member of the Hastings Law Journal and served as Editor of the West-Northwest Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Mr. Nielson graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif, one of the highest honors a law student can receive. He was admitted to The California State Bar in 2001. Mr. Nielson is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth District.

     Concentration: Mr. Nielson's practice focuses on complex real estate and land use issues, environmental compliance and public agency representation. He has successfully represented clients before state and local agencies and in court on various land use and commercial matters.

Robert S. Krimmer

Robert S. Krimmer

     Mr. Krimmer was admitted to the California Bar in 2008 after graduating Valedictorian from Ventura College of Law where he received six Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence and several merit scholarships.

     During law school, Mr. Krimmer interned with the California Court of Appeal, 2nd District Division 6 and the Ventura County Counsel’s office, and was employed as a nationally certified paralegal by Arnold, Bleuel, LaRochelle, Mathews & Zirbel, LLP.

     Mr. Krimmer received his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and worked for two years as an environmental planner on EPA funded projects. He was accepted into the joint JD/MBA program at the University of California, Hastings College of Law from which he withdrew in good standing to accept a scholarship to the prestigious American Conservatory Theatre which launched a successful twenty year career in the entertainment industry.

     Mr. Krimmer is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

     Concentration: Mr. Krimmer’s practice will focus on business & real estate transactions, land use issues, environmental compliance and public agency representation.
