matthew_p_guascoAdmitted to the bar in California in 1985, Mr. Guasco graduated from the University of California at Davis (B.A. 1980) and received his legal education at Golden Gate University School of Law (J.D. 1984). He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Guasco is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association (President, 2008, and Founder and Past Chair of the ADR Section), the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the American Inns of Court – Jerome H. Berenson Chapter (Master; President, 2006-2008), the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Southern California Mediation Association.

Mr. Guasco has been actively involved in several community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura (President, 2001; Foundation Board) and AYSO. Mr. Guasco is also an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University School of Law, where he teaches negotiation and mediation, and he is a published author on the subject of negotiation.

Concentration: Mr. Guasco is a respected appellate litigator who has handled numerous writs, appeals and related trial court proceedings in both civil and criminal cases since 1989. Additionally, Mr. Guasco has over 20 years of experience litigating a broad range of business and real estate cases at the trial and appellate levels. He is also an experienced and respected mediator and arbitrator in civil disputes. Mr. Guasco’s practice focuses on the representation of clients in appellate litigation, consultation and association with counsel in trial court proceedings, and general civil litigation with an emphasis on business, real estate and probate disputes.
