Dennis LaRochelle installed as CAL-ABOTA Vice President

November 26, 2012

California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye installed Dennis LaRochelle, a partner with A to Z Law, as vice president of the California statewide chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, CAL-ABOTA, at the organization’s annual convention in Hawaii.

“It was quite an honor to meet and be sworn in by the Chief Justice. Her willingness to take time out of her busy schedule shows that she is committed to working with trial lawyers as our court system is forced by budgetary constraints to undergo dramatic changes in the administration of justice,” said LaRochelle.

LaRochelle served as treasurer of the prestigious organization in 2012 and is the first Ventura County trial attorney to be elevated to statewide office since the local California Coast Chapter – which covers Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties – was formed in 1988. He is in line to serve as president of CAL-ABOTA in 2015.

As vice president of CAL-ABOTA, LaRochelle will continue to strengthen relationships with the best trial lawyers in the state, giving his firm’s clients top resources statewide if matters arise outside this region.

CAL-ABOTA is a regional chapter of a national jury trial lawyers association, the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA’s mission is to preserve the right to a jury trial in civil cases and to promote civility in trial practice. Membership in ABOTA is by election and limited to those trial attorneys who have met stringent trial experience criteria.
