July 1, 2015
A to Z’s Dennis LaRochelle, who also serves as the president of CAL-ABOTA, led a “Civility Matters” seminar and panel discussion for attorneys on June 19 focusing on the issue of civility and courtesy in the legal profession.
“Civility Matters” was held to further ABOTA’s mandate to elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession. ABOTA (The American Board of Trial Advocates) created the “Civility Matters” program with the hope that it would be shared among attorneys and students at law schools nationwide.
LaRochelle served as the moderator and a panelist at the “Civility Matters” seminar that was presented to the ProVisors Westlake Lawyers Affinity Group in Westlake Village. The presentation featured video clip examples of attorneys behaving badly and a panel discussion. Other speakers included Ventura County Superior Court Judge Henry J. Walsh and Dana Caudill, president of the California Coast Chapter of ABOTA.
