Gary D. Arnold

Gary D. Arnold combines his experience as a business owner with his legal expertise to facilitate very large and complex business and real estate transactions. Having handled business sales and purchases as large as $300,000,000, his practice is focused on real estate transactional work, business and commercial transactions, corporate and partnership taxation, finance, secured transactions and business reorganizations.

With an educational background in accounting and experience overseeing his family’s real estate interests, including their Camarillo farm, Gary has developed a keen eye for detail and a broader perspective on clients’ needs. This experience also developed his talent in managing and mediating toward sound business outcomes on behalf of his clients.

Gary achieves clients’ goals by removing legal barriers and managing the inherent risks of any transaction. He believes in maximizing value and not letting inconsequential problems derail a favorable transaction. He is known for his ability to reach compromises in disputes that could jeopardize a transaction or good business relationship. He has been a court-appointed receiver to help sell a variety of real estate assets for a family in litigation.

Admitted to the Bar in California in 1976, Gary graduated from the University of Southern California in 1973. He received his law degree from the University of Southern California, where he graduated Order of the Coif in 1976. He clerked with the Honorable William Clark, Justice of the California Supreme Court in 1976, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of Ventura County.

He practiced law in Thousand Oaks from 1979-1998. In 1990, he and his partners launched A to Z Law with offices in Thousand Oaks and Oxnard. From the 1980’s, he was involved with a number of community and civic organizations, including Kiwanis, the Rotary Club, Alliance for the Arts, Conejo Valley Senior Concerns and the Thousand Oaks Chamber of Commerce. He has been a director of the Pleasant Valley County Water District, Oxnard/PV Ag Owners, Inc. and is the past-chairman of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA. He is actively involved with planning for the allocation of water resources within the Oxnard/PV water basins.

A lifelong Ventura County resident, Gary is an ardent outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking and backpacking. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, three children and eight grandchildren.
